Description

Let's take a little stroll through the past, shall we?

The early 2000's. A time where despite there being a seemingly endless number of active bands making the rounds, punk starts to feel somewhat stale. Unexciting. Enter NO WAY RECORDS, a label run by a couple with 80s US Hardcore coursing through their veins. Reissuing obscure 80s hardcore records mixed with records by modern bands of similar sonic ilk, NO WAY seemed to singlehandedly usher in the 80's Hardcore Punk revival of the mid 2000s. One of such bands riding that wave:

ACID REFLUX

After reissuing their demo cassette from 2006 on vinyl, NO WAY RECORDS continued to release each of the following records by these Upstate NY numbskulls. A lot of the NO WAY bands don't seem to be remembered as fondly as I believe they should. Hell, if you ask the members of ACID REFLUX about their band they will almost definitely tell you how stupid it was and brush it off with some self-deprecation. And these aren't exactly the humblest of gentlemen, either. Sure, a lot has changed in the last 15 years, but I feel it is absolutely criminal to downplay the importance that this wave of hardcore-punk had at the time of its inception.

Here we have the final 60 copies of the last EP by ACID REFLUX, as sent to me by the worst member of the band. A 'master' copy of the insert as well as some horribly photocopied covers stained with coffee arrived at my door. Taking matters into my own hands I re-created the covers in a number of different colors and attempted to clean off all the tiny styrofoam pieces that the records were covered in after being idiotically packaged. All shit-talk aside, I absolutely loved this band and its members. Saw and booked them numerous times and was never bored. Yeah, I wanted to ring Ron's neck on more than one occasion and have taken my share of mockery from some of the other members, but when it all comes down to it I have nothing but love and respect in all they did as individuals and as a band. ACID REFLUX f*cking ruled. Each record is great, this final one being no exception. Here is your chance to grab a piece of recent punk history at a price accurate to what it would have been when released.

Here's hoping they can be convinced to do a discography collection release at some point.

*Attach a note if any of these color schemes particularly speaks to you, otherwise they will be sent out at random until stock is gone.

Do yourself a favor and spend some time with the NO WAY RECORDS catalog. Whether your first time or re-visiting after years, if you've got love and appreciation for hardcore punk you're gonna have a great time. To this day one of my biggest punk regrets is not getting to work with NO WAY on a record despite Brandon being pretty hyped on BROWN SUGAR while we were still an active band.

Thanks Lauren and R.I.P Brandon.
Long live NO WAY RECORDS!
